At the stacker control panel

  1. If you are loading forms that are the same as the forms that were last used on the printer, no action is required on this panel.

Go to At the printer control panel (tractored forms).

  2. If you are loading forms that are different from the forms that were last used on the printer, set the stacker form width to match the value displayed on the Forms Width LED.

    To set the form width:

    1. Press down on the Forms Width lever. Move it left or right to the position that matches the forms width displayed on the LED.
    2. Release the lever, and ensure that it locks into the correct position.

For example, if you have 14-inch-wide forms, move the form-width lever to 14 inches exactly (as shown in the illustration).

  3. For the Auto Load procedure to execute properly, you need to set the stacker form length to match the folding length of the forms you are loading.
    1. Whether you use the stacker or not and the form length is:
      • 7 inches or greater - Set the Stacker Length at the form length.
      • 31/2 to 62/3 inches - Set the Stacker Length at two times the form length.
      • 3 or 31/3 inches - Set the Stacker Length at three times the form length (at the perforation to perforation distance) as it is folded before printing.
    2. Press the Forms Length key to increase or decrease the form length (see About the stacker control panel).
      Note:
The form-length value entered here is the form length as measured from fold perforation to fold perforation before printing. For example, if a form has page perforations that are 3½ inches apart and fold perforations that are 7 inches apart, use 7 as the stacker form-length value. Refer to "Valid Forms Lengths in Inches" in the Planning and Configuration Guide for help in deciding the correct length to specify at the stacker panel.
  4. Dual Simplex Mode: If a postprocessing device is not installed and enabled, ensure that the stacker table is in the up position to allow the Auto Load sequence to occur. If necessary, raise the stacker by pressing the stacker table UP switch on the stacker panel. If a postprocessing device is installed and enabled, the stacker is disabled in the down position.

Duplex Mode: The stacker in Printer 1 is disabled and is in the down position. If a postprocessing device is not installed and enabled, ensure that the stacker table in Printer 2 is in the up position to allow the Auto Load to occur. If a postprocessing device is installed and enabled, the stacker is disabled in the down position.

  5. Continue to At the printer control panel (tractored forms).
