Threading the printer (side 1 to side 1)

Refer to Loading forms--auto load (dual simplex mode) for instructions on loading forms in the printer. However, remember that you do not want to invert the forms between Printer 1 and Printer 2. Therefore, refer to Straight line configuration (side 1 to side side 1), Left angle configuration (side 1 to side 1), and H-configuration (side 1 to side 1) for instructions on threading the Buffer/Flipper Unit.

Straight line configuration (side 1 to side side 1)

Figure 120 shows the Buffer/Flipper Unit viewed from the front.

Use Figure 120 to thread the forms through the Buffer/Flipper Unit. Use the numbered arrows as guides from Printer 1 at the middle of the figure (arrow (1)) to Printer 2 at the bottom of the figure (arrow (5)). The result is that the forms are buffered but not inverted between Printer 1 and Printer 2.

The guide collars on the roller bars, denoted by letters (A) through (D), were adjusted properly when the system was initially installed. Adjustments by you are probably not necessary, even if you are threading a form through the system with a different width than you previously threaded.

Left angle configuration (side 1 to side 1)

Figure 121 shows the Buffer/Flipper Unit from the front.

Use Figure 121 to thread the forms through the Buffer/Flipper Unit. Use the numbered arrows as guides from Printer 1 at the middle of the figure (arrow (1)) to Printer 2 at the bottom of the figure (arrow (9)). The result is that the forms are buffered but not inverted between Printer 1 and Printer 2 and also make a 90° turn.

The guide collars on the indicated roller bars, denoted by letters (A) through (D), were adjusted properly when the system was initially installed. Adjustments by you are probably not necessary, even if you are threading a form through the system with a different width than you previously threaded.

Items (E) and (F) are additional items that you need for a (side 1 to side 1) left angle configuration.

H-configuration (side 1 to side 1)

H-configuration shows the Buffer/Flipper Unit from the front.

Refer to the diagram when threading the Buffer/Flipper Unit. As the form enters the flipper, its rear edge should run close to the collar. As the form leaves the 45° bar, the edge should line up with the tractors of Printer 2. The result is that the forms are buffered but not inverted between Printer 1 and Printer 2 and also make a 90° turn.
