Appendix. Features > Using highlight color with the Infoprint 4000 and Infoprint 4100 >
Prerequisites
In order to use highlight color with the Infoprint 4000 and Infoprint 4100, you must:
The following limitations apply:
- Auto-align is only available when the color CCD is located in Printer
2 of a duplex system. Auto-align is not supported in a simplex system.
- Data verification between black and color data is not available. For this
reason, IBM does not recommend printing sensitive customer data in color toner.
- Although it is possible to print both 1-D and 2-D barcodes with color
toner, not all barcode scanners and readers will be able to properly decode
a color barcode. For this reason, it is not recommended to print bar codes
with color toner.
- CCDs are not interchangeable between different printer engines or models.
A CCD is dedicated to one serial numbered printer engine. Additional CCDs
can be ordered to print other color or MICR applications.
- Once a CCD is loaded with one color toner, it cannot be changed to another
type of toner.
- Tractorless mode is only supported for duplex applications
when the color CCD is located in engine 2. Simplex applications with a highlight
color are not supported in tractorless mode.
- Custom colors are not available.
- The AFCCU cannot detect which, if any, color CCDs are installed. It is
the operator's responsibility to determine if the CCD installed matches the
application being run.
- There is no AFCCU detection of color, meaning the AFCCU does not know
which toner (black or color) is installed.
- Infoprint Fidelity Manager, also known as Densitometer, (FC
4832 or 4833) is not supported.
- Side 1/Side 1 Verification is not supported.
- No Print on Demand (POD) jobs (statements printing only).
- CE printhead alignment is required.
