Changing the toner collector

Do this task when you finish adding toner in response to an ADD TONER message, or when you see the following message: 0785 CHANGE TONER COLLECTOR.

This message also appears after you have pressed the Toner Supply Push Button four times following changes of the toner collector bottle.

Note:
You must do this task immediately. You cannot delay it as you can for some other Out of Supplies conditions.

Attention!

Never reuse waste toner. Using it severely reduces print quality and may require repair of the printer.

  1. From the rear of the printer, open the cover as shown.

  2. If you have the Infoprint 4100, lift the hook.

  3. Remove the toner collector by pulling it toward you.

  4. Wipe the toner collector table with a cloth or paper towel to remove spilled toner.
  5. Remove the cap from the new toner collector and place it on the full toner collector bottle if you have the Infoprint 4000.

    If you have the Infoprint 4100, place the bag in the toner collector. Make sure the bag is fully extended.

  6. Put the new toner collector in place.
  7. Firmly push the toner collector toward the printer.
  8. Turn the table lever counterclockwise to raise the toner collector table if you have the Infoprint 4000. Ensure that the table is raised completely.

    If you have the Infoprint 4100, snap the toner collector in place.

  9. Close the right rear cover of the printer.
  10. To resume processing, select Start on the printer operator panel or the Main touchscreen panel.
    CAUTION:
    <85>For printers with microcode levels, version 11.6.128 and higher, both printers and attached pre and postprocessing equipment can be started from the main panel of the printer console and the printer operator panels. Visually assure that no other personnel are working on the system before starting the system.
  11. Discard the used toner collector. Use the adhesive label to seal the toner collector bag.
