About the developer

There are three developers: the customer changeable developer for the Infoprint 4000, the standard developer for the Infoprint 4000, and the customer changeable developer for the Infoprint 4100.

Printers equipped with the customer changeable developer allow the operator to switch the developer when needed to use MICR or color toner.

You add developer mix and toner to the printer in the developer area. The Developer Controls table describes the function of each of the controls.

Note:
Figure Figure 9 shows the customer changeable developer for the Infoprint 4000. If you have a different developer, it will look slightly different.

You add toner through the toner inlet (1) or by cartridge on the Infoprint 4100.

Pressing the toner supply push button (2) moves toner away from the inlet and into the toner hopper. This ensures that all of the toner added is available for the printing process.

The developer run push button (3), marked with an R label, causes new developer mix to move from the developer mix inlet into the developer.

The developer drain lever (4), marked with a D label, opens and closes the developer drain.

You add developer mix through the developer mix inlet (5).

The toner catch door (6) catches toner that spills when you add toner. This does not apply to the Infoprint 4100.
